Making Greater Manchester dementia friendly

In July 2017, over 130 people affected by dementia from across Greater Manchester’s 10 boroughs came together to challenge Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, to take actions that would make the city-region more dementia friendly.

This was Greater Manchester’s largest ever conversation with people affected by dementia and their voices were at the heart of it, coordinated by the Alzheimer’s Society. They challenged the Mayor to take action on health and social care, transport, housing, social isolation and the emergency services.
